Statoil has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway to use Maersk Integrator rig for production drilling and completion of fourteen wells at Gina Krog field, in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Gina Krog is an oil and gas discovery situated around 250 kilometres west of Stavanger and 30 kilometres north-west of the Sleipner A facility. Water depth at the site is approx. 110 metres. The development concept is a new steel platform and an oil storage vessel with a capacity of 850,000 barrels.
The field was proven in 1974. The reservoir contains oil and gas in Middle Jurassic sandstone in the Hugin formation.
Statoil has now received consent from the PSA to use Maersk Integrator to drill and complete new production wells on the field.
Maersk Integrator is a jack-up drilling rig, delivered by the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore in 2014.
Maersk Integrator was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) by the PSA in June 2015.
