Statoil has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway to extend use of Oseberg C platform, in the Norwegian North Sea, and associated pipelines till March 2031.

According to the PSA, consent has been granted based on Statoil’s documentation of assessments which conclude that the facility can continue to be operated safely and responsibly and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Oseberg C platform is an integrated production, drilling and accommodation platform with a steel jacket situated in the northern North Sea. Oseberg C lies 10 km north of the Oseberg field centre in around 100 metres of water.

Oil is produced from 18 wells. From three of the wells crude oil is sent in a multiphase pipeline to the field centre for processing.
