Statoil has awarded Tenaris the contract for the supply of casing, tubing and all related services for the Mariner Project located on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
Tenaris said it will be providing TenarisHydril Blue and TenarisHydril Wedge connections with Dopeless technology, together with a full range of services including demand planning, inventory management, delivery to the well, rig returns and repairs that will be managed from Tenaris’ facilities in Aberdeen, UK.

Mariner project
The Statoil operated Mariner field is located on the East Shetland Platform of the UK North Sea, approximately 150 kilometers east of the Shetland Isles. The Mariner oil field consists of two shallow reservoir sections, Maureen Formation at 1492 meters and Heimdal reservoir at 1227 meters.
According to Statoil, the development of the Mariner field will contribute more than 250 mmbbls reserves with average plateau production of around 55,000 barrels per day. The field is estimated to be in production for 30 years, starting in 2017.
The field will be developed by drilling and quarters (PDQ) steel jacket platform, with a floating storage unit. Drilling will be carried out from the PDQ drilling rig, with a jack-up rig assisting for the first 4 to 5 years.
Besides Statoil as the operator of the field with 65.11% equity, other partners include JX Nippon Exploration and Production (U.K.) Limited (28.89%) and Dyas Mariner Ltd. (6%).
