European Commissioner and four ministers have been confirmed as participants of the Ocean Energy Europe 2015 conference.

The event is organized with the support of Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Irish Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Alex White, will be joined by the EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella.

Other officials who confirmed their attendance at the conference include Fergus Ewing, Scottish Minister for Business, Energy and Tourism, Bart Tommelein, Belgian Secretary of State for the North Sea, and Carl Sargeant, Welsh Minister for Natural Resources.

Two-day conference sessions will cover themes concerning the flagship projects and ways to commercialize the sector, export opportunities for doing business outside the European Union, as well as technologies and methods that will help reduce costs of energy production from ocean renewable sources.

Also, the event will feature sessions on wave energy industry progress, financial challenges in the sector, and business opportunities for smaller wave and tidal energy converters.

Ocean Energy Europe 2015 will take place in Dublin at Croke Park, on October 20-21, 2015.
