Hercules wins contract with Eni

Hercules Offshore, an offshore drilling contractor, has been awarded a 20-day contract with Italian oil company Eni in the Gulf of Mexico. Hercules Offshore, an offshore drilling contractor, has been awarded a 20-day contract with Italian oil company Eni in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hercules’ 1979-built jack-up rig of a Bethlehem JU-200-MC design, the Hercules 205, received a contract from Eni with a $59,000-61,000 dayrate.

According to Hercules’ latest fleet status report, the contract start date was August 10, 2015. The rig was previously ready stacked in the Gulf of Mexico.

In addition, Hercules said in the report that two of its jack-up rigs had been ready stacked. The contract for one of the rigs, the Hercules 263, ended on July 20, 2015, while the contract for the second rig that had been ready stacked, the Hercules 350, ended on August 21, 2015.
