Roads and Maritime Services, a New South Wales (NSW) state government agency, is inviting prospective tenderers who have demonstrated the ability to remove the Oceanlinx wave generator to submit a tender for its demolition, removal and disposal.
Roads and Maritime is the owner of the bed of Port Kembla Harbour where the failed wave generator barge is located on the northern breakwater.
A two-stage process is being used to engage a contractor with the skills best matched to complete the operation.
This final stage procurement process follows a previous call for expressions of interest from qualified firms.
Roads and Maritime terminated its licence agreement with Oceanlinx in 2012. In 2014 Oceanlinx went into administration and KordaMentha was appointed as the receivers and managers.
All tenderers will need to comply, among other things, with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.
The tender applications should include a proposed methodology for flotation and demolition onshore, along with design, price and an expected completion date.
A compulsory pre-tender meeting will be held at the Roads and Maritime Rozelle office on September 30, 2015.
Tenders should be received before 2.30 pm on October 23, on the etender website .
