Odfjell Drilling has secured more work for the Deepsea Metro I drillship, as Vietgazprom has exercised the first well test period for the vessel.

To remind, the Deepsea Metro I began its contract with Vietgazprom in August 2015 in blocks 130 and 131 offshore Vietnam. The firm contract period is expected to end in mid-January 2016.

According to a statement by Odfjell Drilling, the scope and duration of the first well test period now exercised is yet to be determined. Odjfell, however, estimates that the duration will be 30-40 days and will follow in direct continuation of the firm period. The contract also includes an option for a second well test period.

The ultra-deepwater drillship, Deepsea Metro I, is owned by Golden Close Maritime Corp. Ltd., a company owned by Deep Sea Metro Ltd., a joint venture between Metro Exploration (60%) and Odfjell Drilling (40%). Odfjell Drilling is the manager of the vessel.
