Norwegian shipping company Havila Shipping informed on Monday it has received an early contract termination for one of its vessels from the Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras.

According to Havila Shipping, Petrobras has terminated the contract for the multi-purpose offshore vessel Havila Faith.

The contract was blocked by local tonnage and the certificate needed for operation in Brazil was not renewed, the shipping company explained.

The terminated contract for the 1998-built vessel was valid until August 2017.

This is not Petrobras’ first early contract termination as the oil company previously ended its contracts for two platform supply vessels owned by World Wide Supply , followed by two PSVs owned by Solstad Offshore , and followed by a contract termination for a Dryship -owned PSV.
