Denmark’s Energinet.dk has re-issued a tender for the detailed engineering, procurement, construction and offshore installation of 2 gravity based substructures for the Kriegers Flak wind farm project in the Danish waters of the Baltic Sea.

The first tender invitation, issued in January 2016, was cancelled due to ”an error in the prequalification, ” Jens Christian Hygebjerg, Chief Project Manager at Energinet.dk, confirmed to Offshore WIND.

”I can confirm that the two tenders target the same gravity based foundations,” Hygebjerg said. ”We have retendered the same service and are looking forward to cooperate with the bidders.”

The second invitation to tender also calls for the two gravity based substructures to be constructed based on the employer’s basic design and general specifications.

The substructures will be used as foundations for the 3 AC offshore substation topsides (KFA, KFB and KFE) for two projects called Kriegers Flak AC and Kriegers Flak Combined Grid Solution (CGS).

The scope of the contract covers fabrication and transportation of substructures to the offshore construction site, preparation of seabed, placement of the substructures, preparation of scour protection, and all other relevant works related to fabrication, transport and offshore installation of the substructures.

The time-frame given for the execution of the contract valued at EUR 25 million is between 1 November, 2016 and 31 March, 2018, subject to change of time schedule.

The deadline for applications is 14 March, 2016. Additional information on the tender can be found here.

Kriegers Flak is Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm project and is developed in close partnership with the country’s neighbours Sweden and Germany. The planned 600MW offshore wind farm will act as a ‘Supergrid’, transmitting renewable energy through power grids to all three countries.

It will be built in the waters between Møn, Denmark, southern Sweden and north Germany and its 130 wind turbines will produce around 2.1 TWh of electricity. The wind farm is planned to go into operation sometime between 2018 and 2020.
