Crowley LNG, a unit of Crowley Holdings, filed an application with Canada’s National Energy Board seeking permission to export natural gas from Canada.
In its filing earlier this week, Crowley LNG informed the licence is for the period of 25 years with volumes not exceeding 10 bcf or approximately 283.16 million cubic metres of gas per year.
The total quantity of gas that would be exported over the term of the licence should not exceed 287.5 bcf or approximately 8.14 billion cubic metres.
Crowley LNG informed that it will source liquefied natural gas from the Tilbury LNG plant in Delta British Columbia and the Mount Hayes LNG plant on Vancouver Island, both owned by FortisBC.
It would also export liquefied natural gas from the Elmworth LNG facility in Elmworth, Alberta, which is owned by Ferus Natural gas Fuels.
LNG would be loaded onto liquefied natural gas marine bulk vessels or LNG ISO containers at truck loading stations of the prospective facilities. It would also be loaded into LNG ISO shipping containers or LNG rail cars for transportation and export via railroad from Canada to the United States.
LNG would subsequently be transported from existing cargo terminals in British Columbia or the United States.
