A2SEA’s jack-up vessel Sea Challenger has installed 59 turbines at the Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farm, the company told Offshore WIND this morning.

“She is following schedule and we hope for nice, calm weather as we move into spring,” a spokesperson from A2SEA said.

While the Sea Challenger is working on the turbine installation, the Sea Installer has been deployed as an accommodation vessel for the substation at the construction site.

DONG Energy’s Gode Wind 1 and 2 will comprise 97 Siemens 6MW wind turbines, and is expected to be fully commissioned in the second half of 2016.

Gode Wind 2, which comprises 42 turbines, started producing power in late February.
