South Korea’s Kogas, the world’s largest corporate buyer of LNG, said its sales volume totaled 3.49 million mt in February, a rise of 3.4 percent as compared to the same month last year.
Sales into the power sector were at 1.29 million mt, a drop of 2 percent, while the company’s city gas sales rose 6.5 percent on year to 2.19 million mt, Kogas said in a filing to the stock exchange on Friday.
The company’s gas sales in January were at 4.17 million mt, a rise of 3.4 percent as compared to the previous year.
South Korea imports liquefied natural gas via the Pyeongtaek, Incheon and Tongyeong facilities.
The county is also building the fourth LNG import terminal at Samcheok. Kogas in December completed the first phase of the LNG receiving terminal located some 250 kilometers east of Seoul.
