GTT of France revealed that its training and simulation unit, GTT Training won its first order for the supply of an LNG simulator to energy giant Chevron.

The French LNG containment specialist said in a statement on Monday that the G-Sim simulator will be based on Chevron’s LNG newbuilds and will be compatible with L-3 DPA’s engine room simulation equipment it is providing for Chevron.

The simulator will be used for training operatives in the handling of LNG as it can simulate “all systems on a vessel involved in the management and handling of the LNG cargo”, GTT said.

Besides the Chevron specific vessels, instructors will be able to train the new operatives using other configurations based on tank capacity, containment system or the propulsion system, the company added.
