Japan’s Tokyo Gas said Monday it sold less gas in February as compared to the same month a year before.
Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas for February came to about 1,471.195 million cubic meters, down 3 percent from February 2015, the company’s monthly report reveals.
In the residential sector, volume totaled 430.967 million cubic meters, down 4.5 percent from last year, due to “higher average temperature, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating and air-conditioning,” Tokyo Gas said.
In the business sector, volume totaled 248.692 million cubic meters, down 3.2 percent from last year, while in the industrial sector, volume totaled 553.556 million cubic meters, down 7.6 percent from February 2015.
Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 237.981 million cubic meters, up 13.6 percent compared to February last year, Tokyo Gas said.
