Prosafe’s offshore rig Safe Scandinavia has started its contract with Statoil at the Oseberg Øst installation, offshore Norway.
The rig started mobilization to the offshore location on March 14 from the Westcon yard in Olen Norway, where it had been converted from an offshore accommodation rig into a Tender Support Vessel.
Prosafe is responsible for the provision of mud services to the Oseberg Øst installation together with all marine operations of the tender support vessel (TSV).
Safe Scandinavia will continue to perform accommodation duties to support the installation via a telescopic gangway.
The rig was built in 1984 at Aker Verdal yard to an Aker H-3.2 design. It was upgraded in 2003 and completed a life extension refurbishment in 2014.
