A Gazprom delegation headed by Russian company’s CEO Alexey Miller visited China on Tuesday to discuss gas supplies with Chinese officials.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller met with China’s Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and Wang Yilin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNPC, according to a statement by the Russian gas giant.

During the meeting with Zhang Gaoli, issues related to pipeline exports of Russian gas to China were the main topic on the agenda.

“ In particular, the meeting focused on the eastern and western routes. Progress was recorded in all areas of cooperation ,” the statement said.

In the second meeting, Miller and Wang Yilin talked gas exports to China via the western route.

“ The parties also addressed prospective collaboration in the field of underground gas storage in China, power generation, and use of gas as a vehicle fuel ,” according to the statement.
