Marine survey specialist Partrac has won a contract to provide marine monitoring support services for the Able Marine Energy Park (AMEP), a fully consented infrastructure project in the Humber estuary designed to offer port facilities for the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind.

The contract comprises the supply, deployment, and maintenance of monitoring equipment, and the delivery of water quality data through baseline, construction and post-construction phases of the development.

Partrac will transmit water quality data in real time to a secure operational project website. Custom designed platforms have been developed to provide data acquisition at the monitoring sites. The data will be used to assess the magnitude and variability of marine parameters during the baseline, construction and post-construction project phases.

The AMEP is being developed by Able UK. It will represent a GBP 450 million investment by Able and will cover an area of 900 acres, featuring 1,300 metres of new deep-water quays.

Kevin Black, Technical Director at Partrac, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the water quality monitoring contract for ABLE; this extends and builds upon our experience of delivering compliance dredge monitoring services across several major domestic infrastructure projects, including London Gateway and Liverpool2 Deep Water Terminal port developments.”
