Nine foundations have been installed so far at the Dudgeon offshore wind farm, with 58 more to go until all the foundation are in place, expected to be achieved this summer.

FoundOcean has connected the nine monopiles with their corresponding transition pieces by using BASF’s MasterFlow 9500 material, under a contract with Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL), which is in charge of the transportation and installation of 67 foundations and a substation for the project.

The foundations are being installed by SHL’s heavy lift vessel Oleg Strashnov .

The Dudgeon offshore wind farm will feature Siemens’ 6MW wind turbines, installed some 20 miles off the coast of the seaside town of Cromer in North Norfolk.

The 402MW project, worth GBP 1.5 billion and owned by a joint venture between Statoil, Statkraft and Masdar, is expected to start generating electricity in early 2017.
