International law firm King & Spalding on Monday said it has advised Kinder Morgan’s units on the EPC contract for the Elba Island LNG facility expansion near Savannah, Georgia.
The expanded facility will be capable of producing 2.5 million tons per annum of LNG and will include LNG export capabilities, King & Spalding said in a statement.
The value of the transaction, which was revealed in April remained undisclosed.
However, according to LNG engineer IHI E&C, the contractor chosen by Elba Liquefaction Company and Southern LNG Company, the total project is estimated at approximately US$2 billion.
It will consist of 10 movable modular liquefaction system trains and will connect to the existing regasification terminal at Elba Island.
The total production capacity of the facility has been booked by Shell.
