Seaway Heavy Lifting has shared this photo of the heavy-lifting vessel Stanislav Yudin setting the topside of the Horns Rev C substation down onto the jacket construction.

The topside was transported from the Port of Esbjerg to the installation site some 20 kilometers off the Danish North Sea coast on board Royal Wagenborg’s largest barge, Wagenborg Barge 9.

The 1,888 tonne topside and the 1,300 tonne jacket were built for the high voltage substation of the 400MW Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm being developed by Vattenfall.

The topside was built by HSM in Schiedam, while the jacket was constructed and delivered by Hollandia Offshore.

Energinet.dk is the developer and owner of the infrastructure which will transport the energy generated by Horns Rev 3 to the Danish grid.

The wind farm comprises 50 MHI Vestas V164-8 MW turbines expected to start feeding power to the grid in 2017.
