Maersk Drilling strikes deal with Port of Esbjerg

Offshore drilling contractor Maersk Drilling has signed a rig positioning framework agreement with the Port of Esbjerg.

The port said on Thursday that it would provide Maersk Drilling with the possibility of positioning a number of rigs there. It carried on by saying that the main objective of the agreement is to provide Maersk Drilling with optimum positioning facilities for the company’s rigs during service and between jobs.

According to the statement, Maersk already has a strong presence in Esbjerg and by choosing the Port of Esbjerg as the preferred hub for rig service and rig positioning, Maersk Drilling will be placing several activities at the same location.

The port finished off by stating that with this agreement the Port of Esbjerg continues its long tradition of providing flexible solutions to the industry and the port hopes that the agreement will contribute to creating new jobs for the companies at the port.
