Polish Energy Regulatory Office on Wednesday authorized Polskie LNG to begin commercial operations at the Świnoujście liquefied natural gas terminal and named the company the system operator.
Polskie LNG has been granted a license by the president of the ERO to carry out commercial activities at the Świnoujście LNG terminal until December 31, 2030, a statement by the regulator reveals.
At the same time, Polskie LNG has been named the LNG system operator by the ERO under a license valid until December 31, 2030.
The license and the appointment of the system operator was a prerequisite for Polskie LNG to start commercial operations at the Świnoujście LNG terminal.
Świnoujście LNG terminal is designed to receive, regasify and deliver 5 bcm of gas per annum into the Polish national grid.
It consists of a 3-km long breakwater, a jetty that will be able to unload carriers with the capacity ranging from 120,000 to 217,000 cbm, two 160,000 cbm LNG storage tanks, regasification facilities and an 85-km pipeline connecting the facility with the Polish gas grid.
