South Korean shipping company Heung-a-Shipping has placed an order at compatriot shipbuilder Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering Co for two small clean chemical/product tankers.
The 6,500 DWT duo is slated for delivery in 2018 from the yard.
The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
The shipping company has three 1,800 TEU containerships being built at the yard. The trio was bought en bloc for USD 29.20 million each in 2014, based on the latest data from VesselsValue. The first two boxships from the batch are scheduled to be delivered in 2016 and the final unit from the batch in 2017.
Heung-a-Shipping has a fleet comprised of 28 ships, 11 containers and 17 tankers.
