XPO Logistics, Connecticut-headquartered, transportation provider informed its French unit has expanded its LNG-powered fleet with the addition of 31 Iveco Stralis for the Bondoufle branch.

According to a statement issued on Monday, the company plans to operate Bondoufle exclusively with gas-powered tractors and straight trucks.

With the 31 new vehicles, XPO Logistics will have 36 LNG-powered tractors in use in France.

Iveco chairman Pierre Lahutte said that XPO Logistic operated the first five Stralis LNG/CNG tractors extensively in northern France for six months as a simulation of future operations conducted from the newly opened facility.

The Bondoufle branch will dispatch pallet deliveries to central Paris and the southern Ile-de-France region, and will collect pallets from the region destined for shipment throughout France.
