The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Monday issued a letter approving Driftwood LNG’s pre-filing review process for its liquefaction project in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, along the west side of the Calcasieu river.
Driftwood LNG, a subsidiary of Tellurian LNG, that was formed in February this year by former CEO of Cheniere Energy, Charif Souki and former COO and executive director of BG Group, Martin Houston, plans to build a natural gas liquefaction facility with 26 million tons per annum liquefaction capacity.
Additionally, DWLNG plans to construct two compressor stations, twelve-meter stations, and three pipeline segments, consisting of about 62 miles of dual 42 inch- diameter pipeline, 24 miles of a single 42-inch-diameter pipeline, and about 10 miles of a single 36-inch-diameter pipeline.
Driftwood LNG plans to file its application no later than March 2017.
FERC noted in its letter that the TRC Environmental Corporation has been selected as the third-party contractor to work with the commission in preparing the national environmental policy act documentation.
