Beach Energy of Australia on Thursday said it has appointed Morné Engelbrecht as its chief financial officer, effective August 29, 2016.
According to the company’s statement, Engelbrecht will replace the current chief financial officer, Kathryn Presser who served at Beach for 19 years, and who is set to depart Beach on July 1, 2016.
Engelbrecht is a chartered accountant with experience in the oil, gas and resource sectors across various jurisdictions, including Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Papua New Guinea and China.
He currently holds the position of chief executive officer of Carbon Energy. Prior to starting as CEO of Carbon Energy in 2013, Engelbrecht held various financial, commercial and advisory senior management positions at InterOil, Lihir Gold and PwC.
