Stainless steel producer Outokumpu informed on Friday it has won a deal to supply rebar to reinforce a spill basin at the Gate LNG terminal in Rotterdam.

According to the company statement, 10 tons of rebar was delivered to the Gate LNG terminal.

Testing of the rebar formed from Core 304LN/4311 was conducted at Tudor Advanced Materials & Structures in Luxemburg.

The alloy is able to retain its mechanical properties at temperatures as low as -196º Celsius, the company said, noting that it prolongs the structure’s lifetime and minimizes the need for maintenance.
