National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has a new Chief Executive Officer. The Middle Eastern country’s energy minister Bijan Zanganeh has signed a decree assigning Ali Kardor as the CEO of NIOC.

Kardor takes over from Rokneddin Javadi who resigned from the position earlier.

Before being assigned to the position, Kardor was serving as NIOC’s deputy director of Investment and Financing. Javadi has been given the position of deputy minister in the supervision on hydrocarbon resources of NIOC.

In a separate announcement, NIOC said Iran has signed contracts with major European companies for the sale of crude oil, five months after the implementation of the last year’s nuclear agreement between Tehran and six global powers.

Mohsen Qamsari, the director for international affairs of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said on Saturday, “Iran has signed agreements for the sale of crude oil with some companies from Italy (Saras and Iplom), Spain (Repsol) and Greece (Hellenic Petroleum), and negotiations with other major oil companies are underway for crude oil sale.”

He added that Iran’s crude oil is currently being shipped to all these companies.
