Total gas sales by Japan’s Tokyo Gas reached 1.121.358 million cubic meters in May, 6 percent up on the volumes during the corresponding period last year.
Volume in the residential sector reached 263.984 million cubic meters, only 0.2 percent up compared to the volumes recorded in May 2015, while in the business sector, Tokyo Gas reported a 2.9 percent increase, totaling 179,175 million cubic meters.
The industrial sector has seen the largest increase of 11.4 percent on year, reaching sales volumes of 514.423 million cubic meters in May, according to Tokyo Gas.
Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 163.776 million cubic meters, up 3.3 percent from May in 2015.
