Sif has been awarded a contract to deliver pin piles for the Beatrice offshore wind farm.

The total volume of the project will amount to approximately 19.5 tonnes of steel structures and will be produced in the fourth quarter of 2016 and first half of 2017.

The 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm comprises 84 wind turbines on pre-piled jacket substructures. The power will be collected on two offshore transmission modules via 33 kilovolt array cables and associated equipment.

The wind farm, once fully constructed and operational, will provide energy equivalent to the needs of approximately 470,000 homes.
