Hughes Sub Surface Engineering (SSE) has acquired a new survey vessel and added Pre & Post Cable Laying Survey, including depth of burial surveys, Multibeam, Meteorology, and Bathometry Survey to its current services.

MV Line will be re-named MV Cerys Line after a refit, with the vessel’s current crew employed by the Hughes Group.

Ian Hughes , the company’s managing director and owner, said: “In these testing economic times through hard work and determination we have been able to continue to grow, and we welcome the MV Line and its crew to the Hughes Family.

“We are pleased we have been able to purchase the vessel and continue the employment of its crew during this tough time.”

The company has been recently awarded a contract by DONG Energy to carry out a subsea inspection campaign at offshore wind farms located in Denmark and Germany.
