RenewableUK’s event dedicated to the offshore wind industry opened its door this morning. The Global Offshore Wind 2016 exhibition and conference is being held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Manchester.
Offshore WIND, located at stand 169, is exhibiting alongside companies such as Siemens, MHI Vestas, and DONG Energy, which position Global Offshore Wind 2016 as a high-profile industry event.
The conference kicked off with an Offshore Wind Share Fair session, where attendees could hear about business development opportunities from major players as identified in the offshore wind industrial strategy partnership between Government and industry, with a first-hand insight into offshore wind project development plans and a guide to the procurement time scales and processes.
This year, UKTI is co-ordinating a delegation of major Chinese project developers, turbine manufacturers and design institutes to Global Offshore Wind 2016.
On Wednesday, Paul Wheelhouse MSP and Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy will deliver the political keynote and founder of Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Michael Liebreich, will provide the keynote address at the conference and chair the Industry Leaders’ debate.
