The Netherlands-based BigRoll Shipping has taken delivery of the second MC Class vessel, the BigRoll Bering.
The BigRoll Bering was delivered on June 17 by Chinese Cosco Dalian Shipyard.
The vessel will immediately enter into a multi-year contract with Yamgaz, the consortium of Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda for module transportation as part of the Yamal LNG project, BigRoll Shipping said.
The BigRoll Bering is 173 meters long, 42 meters wide and 10.5 meters deep.
In combination with the large ballast capacity and the deck strength which is built up on a uniform grid of bulkheads and web frames, the ships of this series can be used for both onshore and offshore heavy transport projects.
The first of four BigRoll vessels, the BigRoll Barentsz was delivered in April this year. It has completed its first voyage, having transported Yamal LNG modules from the fabrication yard in China to the Yamal project site in Sabetta, Russia.
Two more vessels, the BigRoll Baffin and the BigRoll Beaufort are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2016 and early 2017, respectively.
