Atkins, the London-based engineering consultancy, has been awarded an engineering support services contract with Chevron’ Australian unit for its oil and gas assets in Western Australia.

The agreement includes the provision of a range of onshore and offshore engineering services to support Chevron’s assets, Atkins said in a statement on Wednesday.

Chevron’s Western Australian assets include the US$54 billion Gorgon LNG project that is still undergoing repairs following a shutdown soon after the first cargo departed from the facility.

In addition to the 15.6 mtpa Gorgon LNG project on Barrow Island, Chevron is developing the Wheatstone LNG project located 12 kilometers west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. First LNG from the 8.9 mtpa project is expected to be produced midyear 2017.
