Petrobras informed that the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Cidade de Caraguatatuba has arrived in the Lapa field offshore Brazil.

The FPSO connection to the production system is scheduled for August, the company said.

The unit integration was completed in the Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis (RJ). The hull was built by MES shipyard (Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding) in Chiba, Japan, with the integration of modules being conducted at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.

The Lapa field is located approximately 270 km off the coast of São Paulo, at an average water depth of 2,140 meters.

Petrobras is the operator of the field with 45% interest, with BG E&P Brazil, subsidiary company of Shell, holding 30% and Repsol Sinopec Brazil 25%.
