EnBW has issued an invitation to tender for inter-array cabling for the Albatros offshore wind project.

The tender calls for the provision of turnkey planning and project certification, procurement, manufacturing, delivery and installation of approximately 32 kilometres of inter-array subsea cables, which will connect the wind farm’s turbines, with a possibility of a connection to the Hohe See offshore wind farm, located in the immediate vicinity.

The bid can be submitted in either German or English until 30 June, 2016. Offshore installation and commissioning works must be carried out in Q2 of 2019.

The final contract is amongst other things, dependent on the legal framework, permits and grid connection.

EnBW acquired the Albatros offshore wind project in December 2014 . The project has approval for the installation of 79 wind turbines of the 5-7 megawatt rating class, covering an area of 39 square kilometres at a water depth of 39-40 metres.
