CNR International has resumed production from its Ninian South platform, located in the UK sector of the North Sea, after a shutdown last week.

The spokesperson for CNR told Offshore Energy Today that the company restarted output from the Ninian South platform on Sunday morning.

Production from the offshore platform was shut down as a precaution after a fire broke out early on Wednesday last week. The fire was extinguished and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway.

The Ninian field is located in the Northern North Sea, around 386 km north-northeast of Aberdeen and it is comprised of three fixed platforms.

Oil from the field is processed onboard the Ninian South and Ninian Central platforms and exported to the Sullom Voe Terminal on the Shetland Islands via the Ninian Pipeline System.
