Construction of Dominion’s Cove Point LNG export facility is 38 percent complete, according to the company’s May update filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
During May, engineering reached 99.8 percent completion while engineered equipment procurement is at 99 percent.
Dominion said that one barge equipment delivery occurred during the month, with high pressure knock out drum, north and south cold flare knock out drums transported through the offsite area B.
At the terminal, work continued on modifications to the existing plant in the areas of the jetty platforms and tie-in scope. Additionally, work scope continued on foundations, grading, steel erection, equipment placement, piping, tie-in’s, and electrical installation.
At the Virginia facilities, that include metering and regulation station, material delivery continued, together with site work, foundation work, piping work, equipment work, and building erection.
During May, the compressor station and the metering and regulation station operations outage facilitated the construction and tie-in activities.
