Qatar Petroleum is expanding its presence across the entire oil & gas value chain with the recent integration of Qatar International Petroleum Marketing company, Tasweeq.
Tasweeq is the company created to market all exports of regulated products, such as LPG, produced by any company operating in Qatar.
Qatar Petroleum said in its statement that the transitioning of Tasweeq’s employees, assets and customer relationships into the QP organization will be completed before the end of the year.
QP said it plans to leverage a combined set of technical, commercial and financial capabilities through the integration, enabling it cope with the competitive and demanding market environment.
State-owned QP is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in Qatar, including LNG.
Qatar is the world’s largest LNG exporter but the country is facing a tough opposition from Australia and the United States.
According to information from Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA), Australia could overtake Qatar as the world’s largest LNG exporter in 2018.
