HBC Offshore Solutions to Help Fugro Install Rampion’s Array Cables

HBC Offshore Solutions Ltd, part of the HBC Group, has been awarded with the contract to support Fugro with the installation of the array cables on the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm.

Fugro will lay and bury 122 array cables with its construction and installation vessels Fugro Symphony and Fugro Saltire and using one of its two Q1400 trenching systems to bury the cables.

HBC Offshore Solutions Ltd will provide the rigging teams and cable installation equipment supporting Fugro during the installation of the cables at both the WTG’s and the offshore substation.

The GBP 1.3 billion Rampion ofshore wind farm is being built by E.ON, the Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge.

It will consist of 116 turbines, each with a generating capacity of 3.45 MW. Located 13km off the Sussex coast, between Brighton and Lancing, the wind farm is expected to be completed in 2018.
