Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by the Spanish LNG terminal operator Enagas for a study to revamp its gas treatment facility, part of their Gaviota underground storage plant in northern Spain.

The Gaviota plant is part of Enagás’s strategic infrastructure, supporting Spain’s natural gas market, Amec Foster Wheeler said in a statement.

Under the contract, Amec Foster Wheeler will assess the current capacity of the facility to meet new European standards and any requirements for improvement.

The study, to be completed in 2016, follows a number of previous contracts Amec Foster Wheeler delivered to Enagas.
