Ramform Tethys marine seismic acquisition vessel has begun operations for Norway-based Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (PGS), following the installation of Ulstein COM, an information and communication system for marine applications.
Ramform Tethys, which was launched in Nagasaki on March 17, is the third of four 24-streamer Ramform Titan-class ships being built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ (MHI) Nagasaki yard for PGS.
The Titan-class Ramform vessels are 70 meters wide at the stern.
The first and the second vessels, the Ramform Titan and the Ramform Atlas, were launched in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
Ramform Hyperion, the fourth and final vessel from the batch, is scheduled to be completed in 2017.
PGS placed an order for the first two vessels in April 2011 and later, in April 2013, ordered two more vessels from MHI.
