Construction Begins on Culzean FSO

Maersk Oil has celebrated the steel cutting for the Culzean’s floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel in Singapore.

Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine is building the FSO in conjunction with Japanese’ Modec, tasked to supply the internal turret and topside modules

The completion of the FSO is expected in 2018, Maersk Oil informed through its social media.

The FSO will be located at Culzean field in the UK sector of the Central North Sea approximately 250 kilometers east of Aberdeen in license block 22/25a.

The overall Culzean development concept consists of a wellhead platform, a central processing facility platform and a separate utility & living quarter platform with capacity for over 100 people.

First gas from Culzean is currently expected in 2019.
