Peru dispatches LNG cargo to China

Peru’s only natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo to China.

Peru’s only natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo to China.

According to the shipping data by the state-owned Perupetro, the 2014-built LNG carrier Solaris departed from the facility on July 23.

Perupetro has not revealed the exact destination of the cargo, only the third cargo Solaris picked up at Peru’s LNG facility.

This is the second cargo dispatched in 2016 and only the fourth ever cargo shipped from Peru to China.

With the latest cargo, the 4.45 mtpa LNG export facility shipped 341 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.
