Genting Dream, a new cruise ship being built for the Asian cruise operator Dream Cruises, left the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, on August 19.
Following the float-out of the ship, the remaining work as well as trials and tests will be carried out in the next few days, with the ship being berthed at the yard’s pier.
In mid-September 2016, the Genting Dream will sail down the river Ems towards the North Sea, according to Meyer Werft.
The cruise ship is set to debut in November this year and its first sail will be from Mumbai to Colombo on October 29.
The 151,300 gross ton ship features a length of 335 meters and a width of 37.9 meters.
With its 19 decks, the Genting Dream is able to accommodate up to 3,360 passengers.
Another newbuild – the Genting Dream’s sister ship – is currently being built for Dream Cruises at the Meyer Werft shipyard. Its delivery is planned for fall 2017, according to Meyer Werft.
