Gazprom’s head Alexey Miller, on Wednesday, met with the Turkish minister of energy and natural resources, Berat Albayrak, as discussions over the TurkStream project continue.
According to a statement by Gazprom, the agreement has been reached on the earliest possible completion of the procedure for issuing authorizations required to launch the pipeline project.
The commercial negotiations on Russian gas supplies to Turkey will continue.
The two parties also discussed the aspects of regional cooperation in the energy sector.
The TurkStream pipeline will run 660 kilometers along the old route of South Stream and cover 250 kilometers of a new route toward the European part of Turkey. It is planned that the first gas pipeline string will be used exclusively for gas supplies to the Turkish market.
The annual gas pipeline capacity will total 63 billion cubic meters of gas, with the offshore gas pipeline consisting of four strings with the capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each.
