Gazprom representatives led by the company’s head Alexey Miller on Tuesday met with Serbia’s ambassador to Russia, Slavenko Terzic to discuss cooperation in the gas sector.
The two parties discussed the possibility of small-scale LNG supplies as well as the use of gas as a vehicle fuel, Gazprom’s statement shows.
In addition, the two parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, focusing, among other things, on the Banatski Dvor UGS facility, one of the largest such facilities in southeastern Europe.
Gazprom is preparing the facility for the upcoming autumn/winter period with gas injection operations going according to schedule.
Serbia currently imports Russian natural gas under a 10-year deal signed in 2013. In 2015 imports increased 23.5 percent compared to 2014 reaching 1.7 billion cubic meters.
According to Gazprom, as of September 12, 2016, gas supplies rose another 6.3 percent compared to the same period in 2015.
