Clean Energy Fuels on Thursday opened the first public natural gas station in the state of Oregon, in Central Point, capable of dispensing both LNG and CNG.

Matheson Trucking, a United States Postal Service contracted carrier, is using the station for its California to Seattle runs, Clean Energy Fuels said in its statement.

Joshua Matheson, vice president of operations for Matheson Trucking said that with an annual fleet distance close to 36 million miles, using natural gas as fuel enables the company to cut on its GHG-emissions.

The opening of the Central Point public station adds to the previously opened private facility for Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Co. as well as a private station in Wilsonville, Oregon, for the waste company, Republic Services, that will add another 16 vehicles to its fleet of natural gas-fueled vehicles that has risen to 35 in the state of Oregon.
