Tenaris, a multinational manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes to the oil and gas industry, has informed that one of its employees might have been on the fatal helicopter flight en route to a Chevron platform in Angola, Monday.
In a statement on Tuesday, Tenaris said: “We regret to inform that a Tenaris field service specialist was reportedly onboard a helicopter which crashed en route to a Chevron oil platform off the coast of Angola yesterday.”

Tenaris says that records indicate the Tenaris field service specialist was on the list of passengers for the flight.
The helicopter left Malongo Terminal in Angola’s Cabinda province on Monday, September 26, and never reached its destination at the Tombua-Landana offshore platform. The remains of four individuals have been recovered and two are missing. Search and rescue operations continue with various marine vessels and helicopters involved in the efforts.
Worth noting, Angola’s Angonoticias reported on Tuesday that all the six people had died; two expatriates and four Angolans.
Also, while there is no official confirmation, according to info available on the Aviation Safety Network (ASN), the helicopter that crashed was of a Bell 430 type.
