The Montoir de Bretagne LNG terminal on the French Atlantic coast has been automatically shut down on Wednesday due to a defect on a controller.
By precaution, the company’s internal emergency plan was triggered, in order to stop works in the process area, Elengy, the terminal operator and a unit of Engie said in its statement.
“The Elengy staff was mobilized to recover the control of the process, which should re start normal send out today on the grid, ” the company’s statement reads.
The send-out from the facility stopped on Wednesday at around 9:00 AM, with Elengy saying that operations resumed from 17:30.
The company also recently faced an outage at its two terminals in Fos-sur-Mer, the Fos Tonkin and Fos Cavaou, due to a fire around the industrial zone located about 40km northwest of Marseille.
French LNG terminal operator currently has 19 million tons per annum of natural gas regasification capacity and 840,000 cbm of LNG storage capacity at its three terminals, according to its website.
